Regarding IELTS Score

My overall IELTS score is 6.5 bands but i have scored 5.5 in writing . 6 bands each in reading and speakinh and 7.5 bands in listening . My overall percentage is 76. I am intrested in University of Waterloo and University of Alberta . Will they accept this score ?

You should check their websites. You should know that most universities require an overall IELTS score of 6 or 6.5 with no band less that 6.

For university of Waterloo, they require an overall score of 7, since your score is 6.5, they will probably reject you ( https://uwaterloo.ca/find-out-more/admissions/english-language-requirements)

As for university of Alberta, you're in luck because they require an overall score of 6.5 with no band less than 5.0 (http://admissions.ualberta.ca/en/requirements/language-requirements.aspx)

Yes Alberta is an option for you, if you want to the chances to be higher.......write the IELTS again...i am sure you will score high this time....

Please send your scores to the universities you are interested in and ask them, they usually reply within a week...

They are the best source of information, if they say NO then only appear for the exam once again(why to waste money unnecessarily)

if you had like 7.5's and/or 8.0's and only one 5.5 score, you have little chance of getting admission.

just send an email to the admission officer to both universities and send them your IELTS scores.
