Hey guys. Once my wife gets her PR status and lives here in Canada, can she visit any country with me without having to get a visa? (She's currently Russian, and needs a visa to visit nearly every country).

So, as an example, if we wanted to visit USA, could she just cross with me no problem because she has PR?

Unfortunately not much will change until she gets citizenship. She will continue to need a visa to enter the US as a visitor until she becomes a Canadian citizen and gets a Canadian passport.

Just to add, here's where she may now be able to travel without a visa:

Aruba, the Bahamas, Bermuda, Caribbean Netherlands, Cayman Islands, Costa Rica, Curaçao, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Saint Maarten (Dutch part of the island), Trinidad and Tobago.

All other places she will still need a visa (if she needs one now).

That sucks =\. Now her Russian passport expires in 2018. Lets assume she doesn't have Canadian citizenship + passport by then, what happens when it comes time for her to renew her passport? How does that work in regards to PR and all that?

I'm not sure I understand your question.

She would just go ahead and renew her Russian passport. This is completely independent of her PR status.

For the US you need to complete a DS-160 online non-immigrant visa application. The application fee is $140. We got one with no difficulty and it's valid for 10 years.

http://toronto.usconsulate.gov/visas/advice-for-visa-applicants.html

Now this is the link for the US Consulate in Toronto, but it's where we got started in the process.

Also, there is a Russian Consulate in Toronto (and other cities) where a passport could be renewed.

Yea she'll be here in Ottawa with me, where theres also a russian Consulate. The reason I ask about renewing it is because I heard they staple something in her passport. I guess that doesn't matter once she gets her PR card? Just renew her passport, get a new one, and bam? :)

This is from the US Border website. I can imagine that most countries have similar policies to people from non-visa exempt countries. After all, the visa business is very lucrative ;)

Pretty much. It is her PR card that will let her come back to Canada. After she renews, just make sure she keeps her old passport in a secure place because she will need it if she plans on applying for citizenship.
