regarding call to employer question

when CIC calls employer do they tell they are calling for Permanent Residence application? or do they just call and confirm the dates of employment/other details?

So far I haven't read or heard about CIC calling anyone. To my limited knowledge, approval or rejection is purely based on the information you provide. But then, seniors will be able to tell you better.

From what i read,, they will mention why they are calling for...

and they dont tell you before hand....its just a random call to verify your employment... so dont take any chances and keep your employer updated....

They called my supervisor who signed a letter explaining my job duties. They clearly mentioned that they are calling from CIC and referring my Permanent residency application. As I have given a heads up to my supervisor, she provided the information politely. and in immediate next 2 days, i have received MR from CIC.

Though its purely random to check with employer, we can't rule out the possibility of enquiring with employer.

I would assume (assume being the key word) that they would call the person that holds that position and replaced your supervisor if there is such a person.

They will call the # provided in the letter. If your supervisor provided his/her cell# in the letter, then they will call on their cell.

CIC is not going to enquire your employer's# They will call on the same# mentioned in your letter.

My employer got a call about 6 weeks ago but she was driving and was not able to answer. Cic people said they will call her back. But they never did. I have applied in last jan 2013 and i have still not received my medial. Shall i be worried and what can i do to resolve the situation.

I don't think it needs to be worried. CIC knows about these all possibilities like busy when they are calling, resignation, change of no, etc.
