If you are from India

some time if you are lucky the passport & your 10th certificate mentioning DOB would work
or you need to visit municipal corporation , explain them the situation and seek advice.

Not having birth certificate is not a big issue, although it is in cheacklist but they dont ask for that. They insist birth certificates of children only. There are so many documents from where DOB can be known, so dont worry, at the most give an explanation affidavit that you dont have birth certificate cause you were born at home and it was not registered.
I deposited documents without birth certificate and I am through.

thanks for ur reply, i have also a doubt regarding filling application form to the chc newdelhi. should i send the photocopy of the application send to cio earlier or should i fill in the forms once again with the changes as i joined a new job after getting the approval from cio. so i will have to add on few things in the personal history and work experience columns. or is it fine to write the change in details in a separate sheet of paper pls advice

Hi explorer101:

I dont have birth certificate. I am thinking to provide an explanation letter with other supporting documents. Should this explanation affidavit be on judicial paper? or just an explanation letter on plain paper is enough?

please help.

Thanks

@navali

From my own experience, as mentioned by explorer101, i submitted docs without my birth certificate, as in my country, the designated office/authority does not issue birth certificate who were born before some date, as there were no rule to issue the birth certificate at that time. More over, I did not mention anything about my birth certificate and that was fine for them, however they asked the birth certificate of children.

Hope this helps.
