I got nervous during biometric as I reached late and did everything in hurry. Do you think this is the reason that's why update is taking time?

Yes, like you said, you are thinking too much. Patience my friend. You will be fine, the only thing you should be hopeful for, is to get the visa on time.

The thing is, I didn't do upfront medical also, so I was worried when I can expect my medical request!
Where are you applying from? In your country medical is required? if yes, well you better do it now then send the paper via webform in advance.
I'm from India and yes medical is required. Actually have already submitted my application on 5th Dec and I think it is not advised to do medical after submitting application, unless they don't ask to do the same.
Well, hopefully you get medical request on time otherwise deffering your admission will be the next option.

As I read somewhere that getting correspondence letter before medical request can be a refusal.

If you mean biometric validity, it means your application decision is almost. Well, it doesn't mean refusal because of medical. Check your portal and see if there is any decision
Do you know anyone who got medical request after biometric correspondence letter and then received passport request?
No. it is biometric then final decision. medical usually comes before biometric which I think maybe you are not required to do it.

Is it possible that a student from the country which requires its student to go through medical procedures can get a PPR without that?
