Reg: Job Offer letter for EE

Hi All,

I have been working in Canada for more than a year on work permit and exempt from LIMA. I got recently transferred to Canada with a Permanent Job offer stating "Permanent Full Time basis, 40 work hours and salary".

I have been going through the requirements of Job offer for PR and i see that "for at least one year after we issue your permanent resident visa" is one of the requirement.

However i went back to HR and asked for the same, they said they cant provide duration with future date like One year.

Could you please advise if the Job offer that I have received is Valid or what I could do to claim the points.

Thanks
Karthik

no it is not valid unless it is backed by LMIA. your job offer is just a regular job offer if that makes sense. in order to claim points for EE, you need your employer to apply for LMIA to prove that no other Canadian can fill in your positions.

I am currently working in Canada under LIMA exempt category and same would be applicable for the Job offer that I have until I have valid work permit. I forgot to mention the details about LIMA in question. I have updated it.

Would the job offer stating "Permanent Full Time basis, 40 work hours and salary" be valid to claim points under LIMA exempt category, please share your views.

As said above, the letter needs to state that they will continue to employ you for a year after you become a PR. If the letter doesn't state this, then there's a decent possibility IRCC will not allow you to claim the 50 points.
