Hi this is Lekshmi Piriya,

My husband is doing MBA in University Canada West, Vancouver.
I finished my B.Tech in IT by 2005. I worked in some companies for which I couldn’t get any experience letters. So I never mentioned these experiences in my previous Visa Applications.
I was working with HCL BPO Technologies Pvt Ltd and resigned the job as soon as my husband left India. I have 2years and 4 months of experience in HCL BPO as Customer Service Executive. From the month of November 2010 am working in M&S Steel Buildings as a Recruitment Consultant which I didn’t mention in the Student Visa.
My husband worked as a Supervisor for 3 years in M&S Steel Buildings.
We got married 2 years back.

I applied for Visitor Visa by October 2010 and it got rejected.
We exactly showed $24,000 CAD which comes around Rs.10,50,000 while I applied for the Visitors VISA. Its my dad who sponsored 7 Lakhs and 3 Lakhs by my father-in-law and Rs.50,000 by my husband from Canada.
Rejection Reasons are:

  • You have not satisfied me that you would leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident. In reaching this decision, I considered several factors, including:
1.your travel history
2.your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence
3.your current employment situation
4.your personal assets and financial status
  • I am not satisfied based on documents available that there are sufficient funds, including income or assets, to carry out your stated purpose in going to Canada or to maintain yourself while in Canada and to effect your departure.

Again I applied for Student's Visa by July 2011 and that too got rejected.
I have got scored 6.5 in IELTS. I got admission for doing MBA in the same University in which husband is doing MBA. We paid our first term fee around $4347 CAD too. We got Rs.15 Lakhs loan in a Nationalized Bank (Central Bank of India) showing some properties in my name and my husband's name. We have shown funds in bank altogether Rs.11 Lakhs which are in my account, father-in-law's and my husband's account.
Rejected Reasons are:

  • You have not satisfied me that you will leave Canada by the end of the period authorized for your stay because:
1.you have not demonstrated that you or your parents have sufficient income and assets to justify your proposed studies.
2.your proposed studies are not reasonable in light of one or more of: your qualifications, previous studies, employment, level of establishment, other educational opportunities available in India or Canada, language abilities, or your future prospects and plans.
I want to live with my husband. I don't know what to do. Please guide me in a right way so that I can come over to Canada and live with my husband. Is there anyway that I can immigrate to Canada.

Thanks,
Lekshmi Piriya

@Lekshmi Piriya : First fo all i would like to know that how many months gap did you give in applying again for student visa after the rejection of visit visa ?
Secondly, while taking admission for further studies in Canada did u choose the field which resembles ur past qualifications or ur work experience ???
Thirdly, did u apply by your own or u took an advice from any consultant ?
Fourthly, while rejecting ur visas in both cases was the visa officer same or different ?

Pls reply me with the answers of all above questions than i might suggest u what to do next !

Thanks + regards,

Irfan Khan (KUWAIT)

@rock_khan:
  • I applied for student visa after 8 months of my visitor visa rejection.
  • My husband's future plan is to join with his brother's business.
I did B.Tech here and applied for MBA so that i can join with him in future to develop our business.
In my experience letter they mentioned my designation as Customer Service Executive whereas my job profile is VB Scripting and Quality Analyst which my manager mentioned in the Reference Letter.
  • We applied for Student Visa through Consultant.
  • Do you mean the agent through which i applied for Visa? then both are different.

There is no chance that Canada will let you in on a student or visitor visa. Spousal visa is the only way to go. For the other visa's, the main concern of Canada is that you go home. If they know you have a husband here - well, like I said. No chance.

Dear Lekshmipiriya,
From your letter it is obvious that you are determined to be reunited with your husband and I would like to pitch in two cents worth of advice. It is clear that your husband qualifies to apply for BC PNP as a graduate student there. Ask him to try that route and include you as a dependent- meanwhile he can be coming to India to visit you-. If the pnp is approved then your visa worries will be laid to rest. The other idea is for you to apply for pnp under family stream if you have relatives in a Canadian province. My last idea is rather radical but why not. If you can afford Canadian education which you have demonstrated by marshaling funds and paying fee for a whole semester, then you can also afford US education. Apply for a Masters degree in a field related to your undergraduate degree at a university in Washington state which is right across the border from British Columbia and has pretty cheap schools compared to say the East Coast. If you are accepted by an American University for Masters, getting a visa will be easy and once you are in Washington crossing over into Canada on a visitor's visa will be a walk in the park. I wish you the best.

Probably never.
Guys.. I don't need visa to visit Canada for 6 months. Will it be possible, if I travel to CA and try to find a job and will be able to get work visa in the country and amend my status in Canada?
