hey guys.... i too got a visa refusal under SPP stating "Your proposed studies are not reasonable in light of one or more of: Your qualifications, previous studies, missing marks cards, gap in studies employment, level of establishment, language abilities or your future prospects and plans".
The thing is i have 6 backlogs and my university doesnt issue backlog certificates. It just gives me an attempt certificate. I would like to apply for Jan17 intake. what do u guys recon????
Sorry to hear that.

Without backlog certificate I was also strongly advised that visa will be refused, so I got it from my college as the University washed off its hands but my college was very considerate. Good Luck for Jan 17 intake. Cheers.

Also, Ravish believe it or not, it's too late for September intake. Here's a timeline - you'd need another 5-10 days to prepare your reply for the refusal and write a LOE. Then the CHC (Delhi) will take atleast 4 weeks to process it. Official time is 5 weeks but they will do it under 4 weeks. You are already at 20th September. Now, you'd need time to book accommodation, flight and pack. It will not add up.

I would suggest you to defer it and breath. I know this not how you planned things but situations change and you need to change with them. And no need to refund your GIC. It's an investment it will be there when you reach Canada. Till that time it will accumulate interest.

Give your BEST shot in explaining your reasons. Im sure you'll get it. Let me know if I can be of any help.
Ravish, advice by K is more relevant as he has gone through the same situation. He is right when it comes to timelines. Don't be at the edge of the seat and miss your orientation/beginning days if you are lucky enough to get one and above all DO NOT file in a haste...
Be well prepared and correct all your possible mistakes...

Agreed. Basic requirement. without back log certificates, you are just trying a lottery. These are basic requirements. No substitutes whatsoever.

What is spp? Study permit is sp......
So spp?
SPP-Student Partners Program is an administrative framework between the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) and Association of Canadian Community Colleges (ACCC). Launched in April 2009, the main objective behind this program was to streamline admission and visa process for Canadian Community Colleges which would increase the number of visas issued to Indian students for studying at Canadian Community Colleges. A large number of Indian students apply to various specialized trade requirement based diploma and Post graduate diploma program at Community Colleges in Canada.

SPP was initially only open for the Indian nationals, but gauging how successful it turned out to be, the project has been extended to China as well. Under this program, nearly 40 Canadian colleges are listed and there are several other ACCC colleges which welcome Indian students.

Students planning to pursue studies in Canada can apply to any of the participating SPP colleges. Applications under this program receive prompt processing and a fair decision based on the documents furnished by the students. In case an applicant meets the eligibility criteria of the college applied to, then he/she will be considered under the SPP program

Friends I need your help. what should I do, Re-appeal || General Apply || any other options

Thanks in advance
Hi friend,

The real reason I found on going through your profile is that - try applying for some other university to with better ranking - world ranking for conestoga college is around 5977 - you chances for visa approval will be declined exponentially as the ranking falls from top colleges - do consider this point as well :) have options - rest of all it seems fine in your case.

All the best keep posting.

Connestoga is under Student Partnered Program and I have seen 6 people getting positive Visa this sept intake.
But yes, there are majority of rejections for Connestoga and the primary reason is that they have given admissions to almost all the applicants who have applied. Ideally, a college should be very particular while choosing candidates as nowadays Canadian Grad officers are smart and well versed enough to identify if there are any refusal chances for a particular student. Universities like Ryerson and York do not issue offers to doubtful cases and in case of Connestoga they have been generous enough to issue offer letters to irrelevant background candidates. There is a case wherein connestoga has given admit to a guy who has 24 backlogs and 14yrs of gap post grad.
Hence, I believe the ranking isn't any important when it comes to Visa decision but the candidature and the relevance to study, academics ,track record and the student intentions are primary.
Visa officers only check DLI numbers:- Whether SPP or non SPP in the list of acceptable DLI list updated on CIC website.

This refers to your application for a student permit to Canada. I have completed my assessment of your application and I have determined that you do not meet the requirements for a student permit; therefore, your application is refused.

In accordance with Section A11(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA), any person wishing to become a temporary resident of Canada must satisfy an officer that he or she is not inadmissible to Canada and meets the requirements of the Act. This includes the requirement to establish to the satisfaction of the officer that the applicant will respect their conditions of admission and will leave Canada by the end of the period authorized for his or her stay.

In reaching a decision, an officer considers several factors; these may include the applicant’s travel and identity documents, reason for travel to Canada, contacts in Canada, financial means for the trip; ties to country of residence (including immigration status, employment and family ties) and whether the applicant would be likely to leave Canada at the end of his/her authorized stay.

Following an examination of your application, I am not satisfied that you meet the requirements of the Act and the Regulations for the reasons explained below. I am therefore refusing your application.

Grounds for refusal:

· Your proposed studies are not reasonable in light of one or more of: your qualifications, previous studies, missing mark sheets, academic record, level of establishment, language abilities, or your future prospects and plans.

This application is closed. Please note that any new information you wish to provide must be submitted with a new application and processing fee. Should you wish to reapply, I would suggest that you do so only if your situation has changed substantively or you have significant new information to submit.

I got refusal from canada how can i reapply ?

Reasons: SPP is upto 5 yrs. You have 6 years of gap after studies.
There is no clarity on program selection as per the qualification or previous studies.
Backlogs should be clearly highlighted along with marksheets. Its too late already for SPP. SPP was closed on 31st, SPP once rejected cannot be re-applied ever. Get exact reasons for refusal instead of re-applying in haste.
