If your application date is prior to Feb 2008 than its highly likely that you will have to wait for another few months before you get any reply from the VO.

No, it does not affect your application in anyway, you were only refused not convicted.

Your Application is under Background checks which begins with your Medicals. B
Standard Background Checks takes 30-90 Days

Candido dear what reply you have received is a standard generic response. It seems the visa officer replying to your letter (intimating them about the missing information) did not even bother to read it he just copy pasted the standard reply. Just chill mate.

"all developed countries secretly share the data" With the exception of US and Canada who share geographical borders this is not true. There are data protection laws with prohibit sharing of data except where criminality is already establisted.

Ainpfamily if you read it carefully in the background declaration there is no mention of student visa/permit.The question you are getting so paranoid about is in schedule 1 background/declaration form IMM008. Question 9 subsection ( in serial order 2) reads previously sought refugee status in Canada or applied for canadain immigration or permanent residence visa or visitor or temporary resident visa. students also receive temporary resident visa to study in Canada. Take note.
Now where is student visa/permit in the above clause subsection. Although it is ok to update them as you have done nothing wrong. Stop worrying and chill. I read a similar case on another forum poor chap was in the same situation as you medicals done and then he got jittery about an undisclosed refusal of student visa application to Canada. He took the calculated risk and did not inform and got away (as the refusal was ages ago and did not show on his current passport). Although it is good to have a good night sleep over the issue if you inform them. Just chill mate.

No.
If u haven't withdrawn the previous apps yourself - it continues to be in process until a conclusive decision on it is taken by the CIC.

All the best!

Hi Qorax,

You have been a great help to the members of the fourm.

I am also in the similar situation, as both mine and wife's visa (Student and visit) were rejected some 7-10 years back. mine was rejected 1 time and wife was rejected more than 1 time. the rejections were all in previous passports.

our medical is already done last month and we have also submitted the documents asked by them.

We overlook the clause in background form and now wanted to update the CIC. is it ok that I send them the email.

my visa office is london.

thanks much.

We also got refused our student visa and still we applied for FSW.

sorry to hear about rejection of your new appplication....but would you please let us know what was the reason of rejection of your application...did it related to your previous application? does any difference between your new and old application informations specially in your employment history that caused to rejection of your new application?

Jadwig thanks.

Well when one applies for student visa to Canada it is called study permit. It is not called temporary resident visa. Even the application form mentions study permit but not temporary resident visa. Also I did not come across any thing on the website where it says study permit = temporary resident visa.
Please can you throw more light on the above. Thanks.

Read this,

Dear Sir

Student authorizations/Study permits are issued to all students studying in Canada. However, not all students need to apply for temporary resident visa (TRV) as they are citizens of countries who are exempt from TRV. Citizens of India are not exempt from it and have to apply for TRV whenever they enter Canada as students, besides holding valid study permits.

You may wish to re-submit your application and ensure that it is a complete application prior to submission.

Thank you for your inquiry
