I was rejected a student visa today. Reasons: length of stay in Canada, purpose of visit, current employment status and area of study.
I have a degree in business management and a diploma in marketing in my home country, Guyana SA. I applied at the institute of international travel for a diploma in travel and tourism. However it would be lower that the qualifications I currently have. When can i reapply? Do I need to submit back all the information again from relatives n medical, etc or will they reference the information I submitted? Can I change school or field without raising a red flag? Had same job for 6 years and a car.

Thanks in advance

Hi
Vo has mentioned many reasons in ur rejection. First thing if u have applied for a lower credential course than ur last one u need to change. Go for university. U can not remove red flag of visa rejection u had. Dont hide anything in next application. Also ur proposed study should be relevant to ur last degree and work experience. U have to submit all documents again. Have u applied frm ur home country?? U need to show strong reason of studying after 6 years. Explain specific job prospect in detail after canadian degree in ur home country.

Thanks Lmahida

I applied from my home country and I worked and studied since i graduated secondary school. I declared all information they requested truthfully. I will apply to a university in Canada. When do you think I should apply, given that I received my refusal today?

PS I hope they don't refuse me because I decide to change my field of studies..

Apply for next intake. Dont loose hope i have seen student getting visa after 6 years of experience in September intake. Hwever if ur experience is not relevant with proposed study u have 50 50 chances of visa. All d best.

Thanks a million. I wasted a lot on an immigration consultant who didn't advise on any of the points you raised

Appreciate it. Thanks
