I do have to wonder why people so often make very detailed posts "on behalf" of their brother, friend, cousin, etc.

There's no shame in admitting you were the one who got refused, or if it's genuinely not you, tell the other person to come make their own post.

Bro, it irks me so bad . I have taken him up on this in another thread and he swears it's his friend. Oh well.

Not to be an ass but it does appear to be a common thing from a certain group from a certain region? Could be a cultural thing that I simply don't understand.

the "purpose of visit" is this only about the course he will take in canada? or it is about something else?

Purpose of visit means that IRCC doesn't believe you are a genuine student but that your primary reason for coming to Canada is to try to remain long term.
