Sorry to know your dad was refused. Based on your post, you submitted documents to support his visit as the host.... but, he did not submit documents/explanations/evidence to prove that he will return to his home country

He is a school principal in Philippines should I attach the approved leave of absence as evidence that he will be back home?

1. What was the purpose of his visit and for how long did he intend to visit?

2. Do post the list of documents that he submitted

3. What strong ties can he demonstrate to the Philippines: Employment + property or land ownership or a lease in his name + dependent family members + financial situation/investments + vehicle loans + volunteer work, etc?

4. Has he traveled to other visa-required countries such as the US, UK, Schengen, Australia, NZ?

1. They will have a vacation and stay with his grandchildren for a short visit of time (6months)

2. He submitted:
*birth certificate
*letter of employment
*pay stubs

3. No. This will be his first time to travel outaide the country

Stating a visit of 6 months is a huge no because it would imply that your dad's employment ties are not strong. Ideally, he should have stated a visit of 3-4 weeks or maybe up to two months planned during the school break.

2. He submitted:
*birth certificate
*letter of employment
*pay stubs
Do give a thought to some of the other pointers I have suggested in the previous post. It would help to demonstrate his ties to the Philippines. You can then post the new list of documents.

3. No. This will be his first time to travel outaide the country
Well, he can't do much to change his travel history. This means he must prepare the other sections of his application well: His purpose of visit + his financials for the visit + his reasons to return to the Philippines, etc

You should get visa for your Dad to visit you. I rarely see parents visa got refused. I help people for their visitor visa and none of parents visa got rejected irrespective of the documents.
