Hi everyone my study visa is refused under paragraph 34(1)(a) of the IRPA : engaging in an act of espionage That is against Canada or that is contrary to interest of Canada . I am confused why I got this reason for refusal . I am only sixteen years old and have not done anything. Anybody got this kind of reason then please let me know is it normal reason of getting application refused or it’s specific? Thanks

Either you ticked yes on your study permit application on the background check part, or they did your background check and found one thing. Espionage is huge, you can be banned for good. Check your study permit application and see if you might have marked yes on the background part where it talks about if you have been arrested before etc etc, If you accidentally checked yes and it says you can reapply, let the VO know you made a mistake, if the application looks right as in no mistake, I will suggest order CAIPS/GCSM notes and see why VO said you enganged in espionage act.

Hello I want to apply for January intake . In case I apply for CAIPS/GSCM notes it’s gonna take a month in that scenario I wouldn’t be able to apply for January intake. Would you suggest me to simply reapply without waiting for CAIPS/GSCM notes.

The thing is that you don't know why VO refused you based on espionage act which makes you inadmissable to Canada and your reason to come to Canada must outweigh the security concern. Give it a try and see if it works. I would suggest do both, apply for GCSM now so that you can get it on December 18th, unless it takes longer then see how the visa decision will be on another attempt.

So in your opinion I should apply once, before getting GCSM notes. And if it doesn’t work then again after getting GCSM notes after 18 th November. Is there any possibility that canadian immigration can block me from applying to visa in future in case I reapply without getting GCSM notes ? Thanks

There is no point in reapplying until you find out why you were actually refused. Request GCMS notes.

Dont do that. Order gcms notes because believe me the gcms report provides a lot of information. I was also refused and found more details in the gcms report.

They won't block you, unless they already banned you, there is nothing you can do no matter how hard you try. If you want to take the risk, go for it, waiting for GCSM would be much better since you will know every details and you will be able to reapply with the right information.
