Refusal of Visitor Visa to present paper at IEEE Conference

Hi,

I am from India, age 24 years.
I have to present a paper at an IEEE Conference to be held in Montreal for 5 days. I did not expect a denial of visa for this but I got a reject with the following reason.

"You have not satisfied me that you would leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident. In reaching the decision, I considered several factors, including
1) travel history
2) Purpose of visit
3) Personal assets and financial status "

The whole trip is sponsored by my company. So I have re applied with a cover letter explaining all the reasons.
1) For this point I could not do anything. I have visited only South Korea before. So I elaborated this trip itinerary.
2) I explained my purpose of visit more thoroughly, although previously also I had attached an invitation letter from the conference. With this one I also attached the conference registration receipt.
3) For this I explained how my company is sponsoring me. I even attached the hotel booking copy which the company had made for me.

Any comments on what are my chances to go through this time? Is it just because of the weak travel history I can be rejected again?

Hi,

Travel History is a general refusal reason. I would not pin the refusal down to not having traveled abroad earlier.

a. How long have you been employed? What documents did you submit for your employment?

b. What financial proofs did you submit? ITRs.... salary slips.... bank statements.... investments?

c. Did you explain why is it important for you to present this research paper? How is it related to your qualifications and/or your employment?

d. Did you submit an abstract of your paper? And also the notification that your paper was accepted?

e. How long did you want to visit?

f. What documents did your employer provide for sponsoring your visit?

g. What ties did you show to India: family, financial, property ownership or leased accommodation, etc?

Cheers

a. I have been employed for 3 years. I attached my appointment letter and address proof issued by my company.

b. Yes 3 years itrs, 3 months salary slips, 6 months bank account statements with decent amount for 6 days stay.

c. I didnt explain much on this point. Just named the conference and its details. Attached invitation letter and registration receipt.

d. Oh i missed this one. Is it a bug miss?

e. Just 6 days

f. I even attached the copy of the corporate credit card the company provides and its statements and the hotel booking the company had made for me. I just elaborated how my company is sponsoring in terms of allowance and flight booking in the cover letter this time.

g. I had filled the family detail form. Everyone lives in India and no one is accompanying me. The travel agency at my company did not suggest any other doc in this regard.

It seems like this is your second TRV refusal..... you must either provide extremely strong documentation when you reapply.... or else you must not apply again as too many refusals would appear as desperation to visit Canada.

When you reapply, you must submit:
1. Letter from your employer stating they are sponsoring/paying for your visit + why they are sponsoring your visit + you will have your job when you return

2. 6 months salary slips + evidence of any personal investments (liquid cash)

3. Abstract of your research paper + notification that your paper has been accepted/scheduled to be presented at the Montreal Conference

4. Any proofs on how this research paper is related to your employment/academic qualifications + why you must present this paper + any research collaborations you have

5. Has your paper/research findings been published anywhere else? If yes, proofs of this

6. Day-by-day detailed itinerary with expense estimates + a letter from your employer that they will pay for these expenses + if possible, return tickets for the dates stated (refundable tickets, with proofs that your employer has paid for these tickets)

7. Company profile + company website details + contact information of key personnel in the company (your manager/HR/accounts, etc)

8. Any reasons why you must return by XX date with evidence?

9. Evidence that you live with your family at the same address + if your family is dependent on you financially/their well being (if applicable)

It has been rejected only once. Today i submitted again to my company's travel agent. He wouldnt have submitted to the vfs yet. I guess i would talk to the agency and discuss these details and add more documents to the application.
Thanks for the information
