Got a refusal today.....
Thank you for your interest in studying in Canada. After careful review of your study permit application and supporting documentation, I have determined that your application does not meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR). I am refusing your application on the following grounds:
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on your travel history.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on your current employment situation.
You are welcome to reapply if you feel that you can respond to these concerns and can demonstrate that your situation meets the requirements. All new applications must be accompanied by a new processing fee.
Sincerely,
High Commission of Canada Visa Section P.O. Box 1639 Accra Ghana

Do you have any past travel to countries requiring visas (e.g. UK, US, Europe)?

Are you studying at the Master's level in Canada? It's not quite clear from your post.

What evidence did you provide to demonstrate proof of ties to your home country?

1. I'm not studying in any institution in canada nor I'm I currently taking any Masters course.
2. I don't have any travel experience....have never applied for Visa in any of these countries.
3. "

To sum it up, I hold plans to undertake further studies in my chosen field and to assume a faculty position in the University of Ghana, where I am better acquainted to most of the Professors in my department. My family is a big part of my life. They have been very supportive of me throughout my academic journey and upon completion of my degree I shall return to my country to be with them. With the grant of this visa, Ghana will have an international political economist to join the ranks of the few or virtually nonexistent experts in the field (in the country). Thanks" quoted here is the concluding part of my SOP.

I'm asking what you plan to take in Canada. Masters? Diploma? Post Graduate Diploma? Something else? It's not clear from your original post.

These rejection reasons are very generic ones. I am sure you are looking at the rejection letter that you received with your passport. You wont find the actual notes of the visa officer there because they cannot write anything on it. They can only tick the available reasons there. The best thing to do is to apply for CAIPS/GCMS. This is a software that the immigration department uses. The visa officer enter their rejection notes there. It's like a short story of why they are rejecting you. Try to order one. Only PR or citizens in canada can order on your behalf. If you dont know anybody then go for third parties like caipsgcms.com.

Reading your background now i think you have a chance with the university Ghana backing if you could get a letter of assured employment upon return.
Also try and get a sworn affidavit of return, it might help support your case.
Add your personal account if you didnt in the first application
And explain yourself again in the sop
But i ll sugest you get the CAIPs first before anything. I have someone in Ghana you can contact.
