Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has been in a similar position and could help me out with my situation.

In stage 1 of my outland application during the sponsorship process, it was returned to us as we had sent the payment to the incorrect office. We corrected the payment and our application is now coming along just fine.

HOWEVER... The original payment we made was to the London CIC office using their payment details on their website. We since completed the refund form and emailed it back to them, after they had sent us instructions on what to do. But we have been waiting 3 months and still no refund has appeared in my account. Should I wait a bit longer, or should I email them again to ask where my money is? I don't know if anyone else has had any experience with this? $1040 is a fair amount of money to be waiting on!!!

Thanks in advance for any help!

The only refund process I have heard about is when some applicants have paid too much for their application and CIC has refunded them, but it usually doesn't take that long. Hope somebody else can give you more info!
Good luck,
Sweden

Thanks Sweden, yes I hope so too... This all happened because I got really confused when I was applying and it wasn't clear where to send the payment to (and I hadn't yet discovered this forum - this would have been so much help!) so we ended up paying the CIC London office for my application instead of CIC Canada... And then basically having to pay again during Stage 1 so the money went to the correct place.
It's just frustrating because I know that money is just sitting there in London doing nothing ...

Given the fact that it's been 3 months, I think it's reasonable to contact them and ask what is going on, it seems to take way too long and it doesn't make sense, as you have already paid the other one... so I think you should contact them about it - just make sure they understand that you are not withdrawing your application or anything - merely asking what happened to the money...
Good luck!

Email sent.... I included all the previous emails that we exchanged back in November too... Sigh, this is almost as frustrating as waiting for the big 'Decision Made'... However at least I know there's an end to that! ;)
