Dear friends
I will apply as a refugee. I am a medical doctor. till I get permenant residency I shout work out of my profilr. what kind of work can I find? Can I get SIN number, driver's licence and bank account untill I obtain PR?

Yes, you can get a SIN number, bank account and driver's licence before you get PR. You can look for any type of work you think you can do. You will probably not be licensed to practice as a medical doctor unless you do some certification exams but have you done any other jobs you might want to get back into for a while?

If it's possible, it's not a bad idea to get a recommendation letter from you bank at home, might help you get a credit card sooner or something. Not a bad idea either if you have a credit card from old country to take it with you, even if you don't use it, sometimes if you show it, it might help you get an apartment, get utilities in your name without paying deposit etc. If you have a drivers licence already, you can get it translated and use it to take the drivers test right away to get a Canadian licence. Most provinces now have a graduated licencing program which means if you don't already have a licence or can't prove that you do, it might take you a year to get one.

just want to ask regarding sin... if i have a summer job with pay or part time job with pay do i need to give my sin number? how do i know if it is a scam or not?

If you are working in a job where you get payslips and the employer withholds taxes to forward to the government, they need your SIN in order to tell the government which person the taxes are for. If other people are working there and they are getting paid for their work, it is not a scam.
