I withdrawed my refugee claim due to family matters back home and i've received a confirmation of my withdrawal as well. The process was so hectic but I got through it. Now I am trying to return to my home country but I there aren't any direct flights available as yet. I don't want to be deported because i chose to leave on my own but I read that they give you 30days until they deport you. 30days has pass and im here in fear because I don't want to ruin my chances of traveling to the u.s in the future. Does anyone know if I am deported from Canada will I be able to go to the U.S as a vistor in the future. Will the U.S Embassy be able to see that I was deported from Canada? Please help me. I've bin trying to leave because my mom really needs me back home but because of the lockdown no flights are available for me to go. I was told from cbsa that I would have to wit until flight resume.

Why didn't you take a non-direct flight? I imagine even with travel restrictions in your home country you would be able to enter as a returning citizen?
I believe that you can literally leave Canada to anywhere as long as you satisfy the other country entry requirements (e.g visas , covid 19 restrictions etc) as Canada's only concern is YOU LEAVING, so I'm not sure why CBSA told you to wait? Do you have a written approval from them that you can stay till future date?
I would advise to contact CBSA asap to arrange your leave. Airports are open and there's no point of staying illegally here.

I was never given a date to leave. I went to CBSA in person about leaving but they told me I can leave asap if I need to but there aren't any direct flights available and that I would have to wait until one is available. Im from the Bahamas so i can understand why they wont allow me to take a connected flight. If I had my passport I would be able to leave freely but CBSA has it and I cannot leave until a flight is available for me.

Do you have this in writing? Because with a departure order you must leave Canada within 30 days. Otherwise the departure order will change to Deportation order (this will stain your travel history for too many years). Airports are open so CBSA might argue that you could have left Canada even though you can't fly directly to your country.

Okay I will call. I was never giving a departure order. I think because I claimed as a refugee they aren't allowing me to travel directly to my country. I was told from a CBSA officer than I am only allowed to take a direct flight and nothing else. But I will still call because things might have changed.

You may want to inform CBSA that there are no direct flights and likely none in the next few months.
About not having direct flights or being required to leave via direct flight. I know that CBSA wants to ensure that people aren't denied entry by the transit country and returned to Canada but given why you want to leave and your need to travel home as fast as possible maybe there is a way to fly via indirect flight.

I figured because I need to be home asap they would assist me on getting there with a indirect flight but the CBSA officer I spoke to he help me as much as he could & told me that I would have to wait until international direct flights resume. He also told me I could take a flight to Mexico to The Bahamas but thats too pricey.
