Hi,

I have claimed refugee status last month in Quebec Montreal at the US/Canada border.
Later I have got know that this is not a good option to opt for and I would like to withdraw and return India asap.

Do I need to go through any interview/ process with Indian immigration officers in order to collect my passport.
Please suggest.

I’m absolutely down with my decision. Please share the real facts.

Many Thanks

You need to contact CBSA to get your passport. It is likely impossible to get a flight home at this point. It does take time to get your passport back so would try and start working to get it back.

You will be given your passport at the Canadian airport and CBSA will make sure you board your flight. Don’t believe you will encounter Indian immigration but it is impossible to say.

Hi. One of my friends withdrew his application and he faced tough questions from indian authorities back at indian airport. He was held there for 14 hours before releasing on a bond. Not sure if everyone goes thru same procedure.

As far I know you need to go physically to RCIC and submit the withdrawal, after they approve need to contact CBSA with air-ticket and they will schedule your deportation date/time and you will get your passport at the airport on the travel day. There is nothing with your country's immigration involved, until they suspiciously interrogate you.
