Can any one guide me on how I can apply my kids study permit extension. Their age is 8 and 6years old.

we are a protected person / refugee family inside Canada.
initially we all family members got their open Work-permits including kids ( but kids not working they were going school only) that OPW will be expiring in June 2025. Now we called IRCC they said apply for kids their study permit extension. And for adults WP extension. We mainly need guidance on kids study permits. How to apply
step by step guide please. TIA.

Want to clarify are you all protected people, refugees or asylum claimants? All are different. Did you ever correct WP error? If not they don’t qualify for a study permit extension they would need to apply for their 1st study permit.

If your children are protected persons or are included in your permanent residence (PR) application—even if their application has not yet been approved—they do not need a study permit. In general, children require a study permit only if their parents are in Canada on a temporary visitor visa. However, no study permit is needed if the parents are protected persons or refugee claimants.

I could be wrong, but aren’t children attending elementary and secondary schools exempt from the requirement to obtain a study permit?

You must be in a sanctuary school district which is not the case for everyone.

Well, according to IRCC website, you can check as well, the minors who don’t have any status

I don’t think so, because based on the IRCC website, a minor who is refugee claimant or their parents are refugees or refugee claimants do not need SP to study in primary and secondary schools.
