hi all,

i have a question, let see if someone has the answer.......!

someone who gained his PR on asylem base case and other one who got through his spouse as a sponsorship, does both have the same residency reguirement for renewal PR, after the issue date of PR (730days in 5 years). because i heard refugee based person residency days counts even after the PR card expire, so is this true?

Please answer!!

thanks in advance

No, both are required to reside in Canada for 2 years in every 5.

In regards to days counting after expiry of PR card, it is not just 730 days in your first 5 years you have to stay, it is each rolling 5 year period regardless of when your PR card expires.

If you are in Canada and don't have 730 days in the previous 5 years, you should not apply to renew your PR card until you do but keep in mind that only the previous 5 years count. You can not count time from when you landed until today if it is more than 5 years.

I received a letter from CIC asking my passport and also they said a copy of my file was sent to Pakistan so that they contact my spause, she is included in my application.

I called CIC call center asking them, 1-how long more will it take? 2-what will happen next? 3- are they going to give my landing and PR card first and then to my spuase? every time I heard new answers.

OR why would CIC hold my status for my husband;s security check and mdicl exm?

Thanks, waitng for you reply
