Thanks for the great efforts CanadianForces and scylla.

I almost forgot to tell you that my sister in law has already applied for a refugee status for my wife this year within IOM program. My wife was given a case number because she is the principle claimant (my kids and I are included in this case) and her file hasn't been activated since then and we haven't been scheduled for any interview.
Has this something to do wrong upon my refugee claim in Canada? If so, what should I do?

All the best.

Edd77, you can still apply for refugee in Canada even if another refugee claim had already been initiated on behalf of your wife.
This will in no way hinder your case.

Good Luck Edd77

My family and I are seeking assylum. We are genuinely in danger. Lively hood and lives are in serious threat. We have been suffering for the last 9 years.

From our country it is difficult to get any visa to Canada.

How do we come to Canada? Is it possible to fly to Canada without a visa and then claim assylum at the airport to immigration officers?

Please give advise.

Regards

Hi all
I also used ur useful information. tnx all

I am waiting for my tourism visa fro Canada which is 5 years n multi visa.
I want to travel there then apply as refugee.
my question is that my way to arrive to Canada is important for officer or not?
i heared that traveling to Canada with TRD is not accepted in refugee claim and officer will say if u are really refugee how u traveled to Canada with visa?
but the truth is that having visa is the only way to enter to Canada right?
i do not know any other way to arrive to Canada.
so plz advice me abt it.

cheers

Unfortunately whether you are able to apply for refugee status using your business visa or via sponsorship (sister-in-law) you are in for a long wait and probably separation from your wife and children for quite a long time. The system is beyond overextended. Luckily it does seem like you have access to private funds and have family support because legal aid as well as help with initial settlement are becoming harder to access as they are all running out of funds due to increased demand.

Please I am coming to Canada through Montreal air port this June from Nigeria and I have the intention to seek for protection at the port of entry. But I don't know about my eligibility for asylum because I just withdraw from my university in the United kingdom and went back to Nigeria. So I have already booked my flight to come in June. Please I want to know whether the CBSA official will allow me to claim asylum at the port of entry. Thank you

You will be allowed to submit a claim but you may face challenges getting your claim approved.
