I received a letter saying that I was considered as less complex case in November 2020. I submitted all documents and the certificate of readiness. But now I receive a mail saying they no longer process my case under less complex. I must attend a regular hearing. What does this mean? Thanks.
So they told you that your case no longer under less complex or just they said you have to make hearing?

hello there,

Is there a possibility that documents will be approved directly after submitting them to the file review process? Or should we wait for the short hearing notice first?

thanks advance

I received a letter from IRB it says RPD is no longer processing your claim under the instructions of governing the streaming of less complex claims at the refugee protection division, is there anyone who experienced same situation and explain to me what does it mean , because I'm really worried and frustrated.

Thanks

No one knows the time frame. My case was considered a less complex case. After submitting the document, I heard back from them after 8 months that my hearing would occur after more than 7 months. It was all about 15 months. It was a journey of 22 months. It all depends on case to case and country to country. I hope you hear an update soon. :)

This process is all about having patience. It takes time to get everything. Right now the processing time for PR is around 2 years. I did my PR application by myself. I dont have any lawyer. I am from South Asia, not willing to disclose my country of origin and I am a sister. :) Thanks!

It is quite normal.
So many refugee claimants receive a letter that their claim will be considered as "Less Complex"... However after reading the documents submitted by the claimant, IRB will change the process to a regular hearing.

In the "Less Complete" letter, it is clearly stated: This means that your claim may be accepted without a hearing (file-review process)..

and further:

If the RPD determines that a hearing of your claim is required, you will receive a notice to appear for a
hearing at which the RPD will decide to accept or reject your claim.

Please be advised that if your claim is decided under the file-review process, it does not necessarily mean
that your claim will be finalized sooner.

Here in this forum are so many claimants who first received this letter for less complex but then the process changed to a regular hearing..

Many are expecting fast processing but the reality is that even if everything goes perfectly it will be years before someone becomes a PR. If you get denied and try to appeal, apply for JR, etc. that can easily take 3-5 years with no guarantees of approval.

Just the reality of a system which is extremely overwhelmed. IRB will review your documents and decide whether you need a hearing
