Hi all...

Please I need some advice.
As I know from all the information in the general and my VO specific pack (which is Seoul)...we are to send reference letters from past and current employers.
It also states that should we not be able to obtain originals, we can submit handwritten explanations and detailed descriptions.
This is my case! I had already left my home country to work abroad (home country is South Africa). I will only be starting the process this year.
I have obtained a letter from my current employer in Korea and I have one original with me.
What happens if I can't get letters from the others. I have tried to contact them but with NO luck. Also, what if they are reluctant to give a reference letter?

Any advice? Has anyone else been in this position?

Thanks
Maz

Yes. You write an explanation letter. That's it. You can attach evidences like, if you have them:

1- testimonial letters/emails from clients with clients contacts
2- recommendation letters from ex-superiors
3- tax summary sheet to confirm that you've been working at that firm that period of time
4- any public or press releases...etc.
5- old business cards of you and your old superiors or peers, with valid and current contact details.

You need to provide as much details that could support that employment period.

Thank you Mezo.. you are a life-saver!
My immigration lawyer has told me I "must" have an original but I can't get one...
I can try to get other testimonials and letters to substantiate from ex-colleagues. And also some old documentation from them that I worked on. Also a testimonial from a client and contact on a letterhead of their company.

This should be alright then?

Thanks SO very much. Kudos to you my friend. You have made my day. :D

All wishes of success my friend.

What I know for sure that CIC is logical and once we talk logic and make sense, they will definitely accept it.

Hope all works great for you.
