i have all the details except my work period in my reference letter
is that ok , can i show that from my offer letter and end date by pay cheque or t4 ??
they forgot to mention it in my letter , as i left that company and province i don't want request them again


is that an issue ?

In my opinion, it should not be grave issue unless and until you worked in the same designation at the company. If you have your relieving letter which states your period of work at the company, then you can attach a copy of that in addition to other employment documents. But if you got a promotion while at the company, then the period becomes important and it is mandatory that it is mentioned in the letter, otherwise you should be able to provide other documents which proves the various positions and period that you worked at the company. If possible, try to get the letter with all the details in it, it will save you a lot of trouble and explanations in the future.

I respectfully disagree with the Stanlee because I think this could become an issue for you. CIC has explicitly stated that the reference letter mention the time you started and ended employment.

I see no reason why you should worry about if your former employer will get upset or something if you ask them to fix their mistake. It is not like they can fire you, you don't work for them anymore.
