Dear All,

I am one of the aspirants for canada immigration.

I am having problem regarding this topic and seek help/advice from members/experts.

I have total 7 years of experience working in India during which I have changed total 3 employers. I have 5 years and 2 months of experience with my second (2nd) employer and 11 months of experience with my last employer (3rd). Recently I have left my last job with third employer (which lasted 11 months) and joined a new company. My questions are:-

1) Can I claim 15 points as my TOTAL experience is more than 6 years? I am having doubt whether they will consider my experience with my previous employer as it is for a period less then one year?
2) If they do consider the experience of my previous employer, is it possible that I submit only the experience letter received from my previous employer without mention of main duties performed (the reason being my previous employer is unwilling to write the main duties performed on a company letterhead)?
3) It is about 3 weeks since I joined my current organization (4th employer). Is it mandatory to show the experience with my current employer and put reference letters against it (as I am not claiming points against my current employer (4th) because my six years of work experience is sufficed by my previous two employers)??

kindly help

thanks terki..

Let me make myself clear if I understood you right..

You mean to say that it doesnt matter if I have less than one year of experience with my previous employer as I am meeting the overall criteria of 6+ years of work experience??

If this is not what you mean then plz elaborate..

You must have at least one full time year with one employer in the new NOC list. So your six year employment would have to qualify. If that is the case, then you can add the other 18 months as long as those jobs were in skill level OAB. I haven't read the latest requirements, so I am not sure if there are additional points for experience greater than those six years.

See the max points(15) are for 6 year experience

to claim this you need to proove your job duties matching with any NOC mentioned job duties and min 1 year duties match with your prefered NOC in which you are applying

so for that you need to show proper letter form employer mentioneing your duration there and duties

about current you can show only salary stuff etc to prove your presence there as no additional points you will get more than 6 years

Well..

As I wrote i have 5 years and 2 months experience with one employer..for which i am in process of arranging the reference letter..
now my last employment was only for 11 months..so will it be considered or not (as it is for a period less than one year).. pardon me if you feel that i am repeating my question but i didnt really get my answer so i am doing so..

Yes your 11 months can be added to the 5 yrs 2 Months even though it is not a full year as long as you have at least ONE FULL YEAR in the select NOC list. Read the OP Manual for FSW for official information.

Dear Vats,
My job duties are matching with the NOC mentioned job duties. And for that I will be showing a letter from employer mentioning my duties. But all these I will be doing for my 2nd employer with whom I have 5 years and 2 months of experience.
But my main question is regarding my previous employer (with whom I lasted for 11 months). Can I claim the experience of my previous employer (it being less than one year)?

And my previous employer is unwilling to give me in written my roles and responsibilities. So can I submit an experience letter WITHOUT roles and responsibilities? It has all other things mentioned in it like Last salary drawn, date of joining, date of leaving, position while eaving, etc.

It would be really helpful if you can answer my question point wise as I asked them.

Thanks

Thanks pippin for reply.

Now my previous employer (the one with whom I have 11 months exp) is unwilling to give me in written roles and responsibilities. I have an experience letter and it does show other stuff like Last salary drawn, date of joining, date of leaving, position while leaving, etc but not the roles and responsibilities..

what is the option then??

Somehow you have to get the documentation describing your duties. Several things you can try: send letter or email with detailed request for duties letter and provide that along with boss's refusal to show your attempt; compose script for your boss to sign if it is too much work for them to do; use job posting for your position and any documents you have that back up your duties; ask supervisor or colleague to write letter on company letterhead and include cover letter about company policy against providing letters. Any pictures of you at work that might help? Include business card of boss with a letter from him/her offering to answer any questions VO might have. I am grasping here! It is really tough that so much rides on getting the experience letters. Good luck!

you have to take the letter by any how, tell them reason for the letter and if needed ask them to write to cic means instead "To whoms ever it ... ".

i think that is better and reasonable alternative to convience them

best of luck

You are right that it is better and reasonable alternative to convience them..but I have tried almost all means to do so and so after that I am looking for meaningful alternatives of the same..

Many users advise that if you write on plain paper by self signed and attach referance of your couleages there with their visiting card to assure the duties, can be valid. but m not sure you confirm this with other member also
