Reference Letter From Ex-Colleague

And for the company where I already have the reference letter, do I need to include anything else with that application or just the reference letter will suffice?

I have a total of 4 companies that I am including in my application.

1) I have a reference letter
2) Got the ex-colleague reference letter (but from a colleague who has already left the company)
3) An ex-colleague agreed to get me one (left organization already)
4) An ex-colleague agreed to get me one (left organization already)

I'm still working my way through the 3 companies where I have ex-colleague references to upgrade to HR/Manager reference or at least an ex-colleague who's still with the respective companies. But I wanna make sure I'm prepared for the worst case scenario and have reference letters from ex-colleagues that have left as a bare minimum

LoE is required only when you're trying to explain something which isn't self evident or straightforward. A self-complete reference letter wouldn't need to be supported by an LoE. If the reference letter has all information required by IRCC, one wouldn't be required to submit any supporting documentation for that employment. It doesn't hurt to provide supporting documentation but strictly unnecessary.

Well the reference letter is as complete as it could be. I asked the company to follow this format:

Hi mate,

Number of working hours per week is also required, i see that your NOC is 'corporate sales manager' (same as mine), since mine was a field based job, getting working hours endorsed in reference letter was difficult.

Yeah its been a nightmare getting "any" kind of reference letter whatsoever

Thankfully one of my companies agreed while the other 3, I'm getting references from ex-colleagues (and yes I ensured 40 hours per week was inserted in them)

Btw your IELTS result is IDENTICAL to mine...this is getting a bit creepy now haha

got one ref letter in company letter head without number of working hours, got another one from an old colleague in white paper. Hope everything goes well !

No AOR as of now, they are yet to be processed for even completeness. Currently November applicants docs are in process.

Hey, was the reference letter signed by an ex-colleague any good?? Did you manage to get the PR with these documents?
I am facing a similar problem, my HR has refused to help me with the ref letter... managers are not responding.. I only have my colleagues who are willing to help me out with this document

Hi, Yes it went on all good. In fact i received PR in April and moved to Toronto last month. IRCC does accept ref letters from colleagues. They do understand that few companies does not provide reference letters as per IRCC format

Congrats on your Pr, did they call your colleague?, My concern is that my senior colleague will be on vacation for next 3 weeks & getting worried about it, even though he can still access his email (that he give in ref letter)

I need help with a reference letter from colleague. Do you have a format which you have used to apply for PR and does the colleague needs to be with the same company when he provided me with the letter? and how do we do the notarization?
