I have got reference letter provided by my Canadian employer as per NOC 0213 requirement. It states my period of employment, duties performed and compensation details.

Would like to know, whether I need to have similar reference letters from my previous employers as it would be difficult to get. Am having appointment letter and experience certificate for all previous employer. Also, getting reference letter from co-workers won't help me, b'cause it needs to be notorized and am currently based in Canada.

Is it not the case that CIC looks only for 1 yrs experience, which am having from my Canadian employer.

Any suggestions?

No Reference letter does not need to be similar, as I read before that some on got rejected because two reference letters from two different employers were issued with almost same format and wording

Am having appointment letter and experience certificate for all previous employer.
The requirement for work experience is as under;

For you, your spouse or common-law partner provide:
•notarized employment contracts from your present and past employers, accompanied by an English or French translation
•original and up-to-date letters of reference from your past and current employers. Letters must be written on company letterhead and show the company’s full address, telephone and fax numbers, and be stamped with the company’s official seal.
Letters must include all of the following information:
•the specific period of your employment with the company
•the positions you have held during the period of employment and the time spent in each position
•full details of your main responsibilities and duties in each position
•your total annual salary plus benefits
•the signature of your immediate supervisor or the personnel officer of the company
•a business card of the person signing
If you cannot provide a reference from your current employer, provide a written explanation (i.e. employment contracts, work descriptions, performance appraisals describing job duties).

Also, getting reference letter from co-workers won't help me, b'cause it needs to be notorized and am currently based in Canada.
Reference letters does not need to be notarized as these are required originals

Is it not the case that CIC looks only for 1 yrs experience, which am having from my Canadian employer.
if you need more points you better disclose all of your work experience which is 4 years 21 points

Any suggestions?

I hope my answers will help you
Thanks
Wicky

Thanks Wicky..need more clarification on below points in Blue

1. Would like to know, whether I need to have similar reference letters from my previous employers as it would be difficult to get.
No Reference letter does not need to be similar, as I read before that some on got rejected because two reference letters from two different employers were issued with almost same format and wording
What I wanted to know, is whether reference letter from all previous employers are mandatory. Won't the appointment/contract letter and experience letter in original suffice

2. If you cannot provide a reference from your current employer, provide a written explanation (i.e. employment contracts, work descriptions, performance appraisals describing job duties).
By providing an explanation, of not having reference letter, will it weaken the case.?

3.Also, getting reference letter from co-workers won't help me, b'cause it needs to be notorized and am currently based in Canada.
Reference letters does not need to be notarized as these are required originals
Will the scanned copies of co-workers reference letters suffice

Appointment letters are OK to explain job terms and conditions, duties, pay etc. but these letters/ contracts etc are issued in the past and does not always include what is required, for example contract letters do not include finished/ termination dates of the employment. Now second thing is Reference letters, which are required up to date means latest from present/ past employers under the following terms/ requirements;
•original and up-to-date letters of reference from your past and current employers. Letters must be written on company letterhead and show the company's full address, telephone and fax numbers, and be stamped with the company's official seal.

2. If you cannot provide a reference from your current employer, provide a written explanation (i.e. employment contracts, work descriptions, performance appraisals describing job duties).
By providing an explanation, of not having reference letter, will it weaken the case.?
No as long as it explains every thing

3.Also, getting reference letter from co-workers won't help me, b'cause it needs to be notorized and am currently based in Canada.
Reference letters does not need to be notarized as these are required originals
Will the scanned copies of co-workers reference letters suffice
Could be if you submit a covering letter explaining the situation
I hope your questions are answered now.

Thanks
Wicky

Thanks again Wicky :)

As of now am having reference letter from my Canadian employer, with whom am working from 2008 onwards (that's 3 yrs as of today) and reference letter from co-worker (Scanned copy) from company which i worked from 2005 - 2008 (2.5 yrs).

That means, I have show over 4 yrs experience to CIC and having reference letters. Will that help to gaining full 21 points.

Yep...
Hey Guys I also have a question regarding Experience and Reference Letters etc. I am finalizing my application/docs for submission.

I have been working in my current Job (in gulf as a doctor) for almost 5years now. I have obtained Exp letter from my hospital incharge on official letter head, showing my duties and details and also time period. SO my Qs is;

1 - Should I enclose Bank Statements showing my Salary coming into the account.
If yes how much back should I go with the Bank Statement, in this regards.

2 - I have experience of over 11 years. I have been in almost 7-8 various jobs and have letters of exp from them. Some show details and some just work experience time period, and post held. And details of the Hospitals etc (Experience letters). Are they enough? As I will be claiming 21 (and hoping I get it :) ) on the basis of my 4-5 years current work.

I hope someone can guide.
THANKS
