Hello ppl

Please someone advise me on my situation. One of my employer has changed his research lab to a different university so now he will not be able to provide me with a reference letter on the old letterhead. I wanted to know if my supervisor gives the reference letter on his new company's letterhead, will that be acceptable? Also since he doesn't have any business card or company id to attach, he is kind enough to provide me with his employment contract. Will this help me. Please advise. Its urgent I need to submit my documents this week. Everything is ready except this doubt for which I need some clarification. Thanks in advance.

Get the reference letter on plain A4 paper along with the job duties written on it. It will work.

Thanks for the response.

Do you think I need to attach a letter of explanation as to why its on a plain and not company's letterhead?

You may type on the top of plain paper the company's name, address, contact Nos., website etc. as they are mentioned on the printed letterhead. Then type your experience letter with your JD and salary information.

Hope this helps.

Explanation is not required because as far as I know, top Indian MNCs don't issue reference letters officially & that too on letterhead, seems impossible (all my ref letters were on plain paper & worked like wonders). If you add any sort of explanation, that could complicate things. This is just my personal viewpoint, rest its your call.

Regards.
