Hi guys, I'd appreciate your input on this matter

we are drafting the reference letter with my employer but we are unsure on what to write down for employment start date.

I signed their job offer in sept 2016
After going through the LMIA process, I received my work permit June 2nd 2017
But my first day of work for them was June 5th 2017.

we are thinking of opening the letter with these 2 lines:
"Please accept this letter as confirmation that [[employee name]] is currently employed by our firm [company name] since June 5th 2017. Date on which he joined our company upon approval of his work permit"

Thanks in advance
