Hi,
After I got my PR, I went back to US & then, I come back to Canada 6 months ago by bus. What should I do to make sure that I came to Canada 6 months ago as I don't have stamp or entry record in my passport? I want to make sure that there won't be any issue to meet number_of_days requirement when I renew my PR or apply for citizenship. Thanks!

It is your responsibility to keep track and present an accurate statement at the time of renewal/citizenship. Keep accurate notes of your comings and goings (and a file with evidence like bus/plane tickets if you have them). I use Excel spreadsheet (see example below). Mine has accompanying citizen because my partner is Canadian and days we are gone together do not count in PR residency obligation (but they do for citizenship). Also, keep proof of living in Canada; like rental agreements, utility bills, bank statements, stuff like that.

Dates Destination No of Days Accompanying Citizen Purpose

7/17/2009-7/29/2009 BES, France 11 yes family celebration - wedding

12/24/09-01/07/2010 CHS, SC, USA 13 yes family visit Christmas

Thanks, how does this Excel sheet help? Is it for counting number of days or can I actually submitt it with my PR renewal or Citizenship application?

It was just the easiest way for me to keep an accurate record. I keep that file on the computer to update and very so often I print a copy and put it in the file folder with my other paper proof.

I haven't done renewal or citizenship apps yet, but I think you use the cic residency calculator for at least one, possibly both, applications. In the calculator you enter the dates of your travels and it counts the days for you. But I've heard you also have to include your proof of residency and travel. I have read that if the proof is not substantial (or your residency is in question) then you could get the dreaded RQ (residency questionnaire) which can extend processing time by years.
