I have been accepted by RRC in Winnipeg and want to apply for a study permit visa. I understand that residents of Denmark cannot apply in DK but have to travel to UK for the visa process (biometrics).

Since I come from an awesome country (Pakistan, although I live legally in Denmark) that UK requires me to have a visa before I am allowed to travel there, my question is, can I apply through Germany or Vienna as it is easy for me to travel there. For UK, I will need to separately apply for a UK visit visa.

Do I have an option or should I apply through UK only.
Thanks for the reply.

1. You can select a nearby country. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/vac/list.asp for the biometrics.
2. You still have to apply through London for the study permit.

Thanks PMM for the reply,

1. Okay then I can choose Germany to apply for biometrics.
2. To apply for study permit in UK, this does not have to be done in person does it? Sorry I have not fully explored the application process yet. I am trying to gather the facts before I lodge my application.

just use the apply online option under study on cic. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/my_application/apply_online.asp?d=2

u just got to have all documents scanned and a camera if your not using a laptop with built in camera.

once you have been issued a study permit they will email you to send your passport for stamping. you dont need to go in person.

cheers.

Awesome!
One more question, I was applying online, and im going to bite the bullet here now and apply for my spouse (and infant) too at the same time. I know every person out there says dont apply for family but it will be difficult for them to apply from home country so Im applying for them right now and with me. I suppose if we get rejected as family, I will apply for myself then. I am approved for a 2 year program at RRC. I have enough funds to show for myself and have a declaration from parents with a bank statement saying they will support us.

My question is what kind of visa should I apply for my spouse and infant on my online application? Two options that Im confused about are Visitor, Worker without requiring a work permit. I think it should be visitor but im afraid they might only be allowed to stay maximum 3-6 months. I heard that the spouse of a student can work fulltime which makes me think I should select "Worker without requiring work permit". Which is the right option?

1. Select visitor, she can apply for either an extension if admitted for 6 months, or an Open Work Permit when she arrives in Canada.

Ok thanks. I wonder what the success rate is. I have read about people with many kids and wife as primary applicant apply to study and they get the visa. At the same time Im seeing people with what seems like everything okay, documents wise, get rejected for xyz reason ( most common I think that you do not have sufficient ties with home country to return.) We are already immigrants in a foreign country and now trying to go to Canada via study route. If I need Canadian experience to make a strong case, I think I might just study there and then get the PR after finding work. How can we show stronger ties to return back home when we are already not living in our home country.
Frankly do we stand a chance?

Yes about 14k USD funds in my account and 60K USD in dad's statement. Im thinking of only showing dad's just so I dont confuse them. From my calculations for the 3 of us including my studies, we need about 53k if we go by their standards for two years.
