Recommended travel insurance for spouse arriving in Canada?

My spouse will be joining me in Canada very shortly. He's travelling from India with his COPR. Should I purchase the travel insurance from within Canada, and if so, from who do you guys recommend? Or should he buy it from India? And lastly, for how many months should we buy it for?

Are buying it for medical coverage? If so, and if your spouse is arriving as a PR then I would advise you to first check with your provincial health insurance. In some provinces, new permanent residents will have access to provincial health insurance coverage as soon as they arrive. In others, there is a waiting period of up to three months. You must verify this first before buying insurance.
