Does the Cic consider applications recieve date as the: 1.date of filling the application by applicant or
2.date recieved by Cic when sent by courier or mail or
3.the date the application package opened by Cic?
Thanks in advance for you reply

We mailed our application on a Friday, they received it on the following Monday morning (according to Canada Post), and they counted the application date as that Tuesday. So that would be 3.

If it had been necessary to make some legal argument about the date of the application, maybe they would have been forced to change this to 1 or 2, since we had proof of receipt. But I'm not sure.

We probably made a mistake in addressing it to their P.O. Box - we should have sent it to their courier address instead.

I have applied for my pr renewal on august, 2013 as its expire by april, 2014 and I was not aware that I cant apply for renewal if there is more than 180 for pr to expire.
Now Cic are working on applications recieved on june, 1, 2013. So on the time when they open my application, it might be somewhere during October, 2013.
My concern is Cic might return my application if they consider the date of mailing? Or if they will consider the date of opening my application package?
