Recieved work permit

Hi,
Does receiving a work permit mean that you've got AIP? (inland spousal sponsorship application)

Yes - if you applied for an Open Work Permit with your initial application and you received it. If you didn't apply for one, but they've notified you now that you're eligible to do so, that also means you've reached and passed first stage approval.

Wow - thanks for that.
We put the app for sponsorship, visa extension/work permit and rehabilitation all together. We weren't expecting to hear about the work permit until May 2012 but when it arrived there was no letter or anything, just the work permit in an envelope. I assume they'll send something official-like.

Hi,

I'm sponsoring my spouse from inside Canada. How long did it take you to get the open work permit from the date you sent your permanent residence application in. Are the wait times on the CIC website accurate? I'm feeling more than a bit dejected right now, after looking on the website. Thanks

Congracts! So far, I have heard 4 people receiving OWP after they applied through inland in July. Did you send your application in July as well? Please join us in Inlanders 2011.

Our app was received June 20 2011 and this was a great xmas present!!
I will check out the thread - just found this site tonight, would have been great to have found earlier!!
