I received an email from CIC today saying that my application in the final stages and ready for COPR. I have also checked on ecas and it now says "Decision made".

However, the email has said that to issue my permanent visa, I now need to submit my photographs, copies of passport and complete an "updated information" sheet (asking me to provide details like eye colour and height).

I included photos and passport copies in my application back in February, so I am assuming this is just a general request they send to everyone? They have previously sent me two emails requesting documents I have already submitted, and I just emailed back saying that they were already sent.

I don't recognise this "updated information" form, so I will fill that out, attach it to a reply email and just tell CIC in the reply email that they already have my photos and passport copy.

What do you think? Do you think that will be ok at this final stage?

Did you send a copy of your passport when you submitted the application? I take it this is a positive decision if they are requesting copies of the passport which means they need to verify you after which they will be sending your COPR. This seems to be new operating procedure as I have encountered a few others that have been requested this email.

Even though you sent in a copy of your passport and photos when you applied, you still need to send them in this time. Why? The photos, for example will be more recent. You need to send in the requested documents. Getting asked for these 3 (passport, photos and updated info) is your decision made, they need these to issue your COPR.

Thanks for the reply. The part about passport says:

A photocopy of the photo and personal information pages of your passport and of the passport(s) of your accompanying spouse and dependent children to our office in London.

So I just have to provide a photocopy of my passport photo page...again. And two more photos. Kind of frustrating that I have to provide info by post that I've already provided, but if this is what I have to do, then so be it. I called CIC - they said the same thing, that I was just to follow the instructions in the email.

So what is the problem? If this is what is required and if you want to become a PR then do it! The sooner you do it the sooner you will get your visa.
