So I focused on the Coherence and Cohesion (Connecting sentences and one idea per body paragraph) marking criteria. Just followed IELTSLiz videos and website. She keeps it simple. Hopefully I am again able to score a 7 or above.

Coherence and cohesion means how well you are able to transition from one idea to another while maintaining the overall crux of the essay/ letter. Ideas and arguments need to be free flowing within a para to demonstrate this. Maybe you are struggling with scoring a 7 band in writing because you are only developing one idea per para. Learn how to develop multiple ideas in the least number of words. That is a sure way of scoring 7 or even 8

Follow the above thread. It is more than sufficient resource to sharpen your writing.

FYI those websites that teach you how to conquer various sections of the IELTS are free for a reason. They are good to get you to 6.5 maybe even 7. You really shouldn't expect anything beyond that tbh. Start thinking outside the box if you want to ace the test.

Recently took my test in Canada.

Result (LRWS): 9 - 8 - 7 - 8.5 (133 points for EE) - wanted all CLB 10 but don't want to spend another $300+ just to get 3 more points.

Hello. Below are my IELTS attempts. Only focusing on my writing got me a 7 finally but at the cost of my LRS. Has anyone faced such an issue? Should I go for a remark, cause I don't feel I fared any different in my latest attempt as compared to earlier one's. Already registered for my 6th attempt, IDP this time.

Hello All.

So my results from recent IDP attempt are out. And I finally scored my desired bands lrws 8.5/8/7/7.5. Have also shared my writing tips. Trust me I just improved on my Cohesion and Coherence and managed to score 7 twice in my writing.
