Received PNP certificate today! Can I apply for spouse open work permit?

Hi,

We just received our PNP certificate today! Thanks for all the people helping before. We submitted our application in mid-March.

Now we are considering getting an open work permit for my wife, who is stduying in the US but currently in Toronto for the summer. Do we need to apply for the OWP for her first and then PR, or these can be done at the same time? BTW, I have a 3-yr Post Grad Work Permit and an AB0 class job. Please advice, thanks!

The apps are completely independent of each other. There is no need to submit one before the other.

What if the job is not under category O, A or B and person is on post graduate work permit (valid for 2 years) and also nominated by the province. In this case, is the spouse eligible for open work permit? The province will not issue the support letter to spouse of the nominee, because only nominee is eligible for the letter. So will the nominee certificate from the province will work for the application of spouse for open work permit?
