Received my PR card last 2017 are still valid

hi good day!!! i just want to ask if my PR still valid?
i just received my PR card last feb 2017 and my plan to go and live in canada by may 2019 are my PR still valid?

When did you complete your initial landing given you need to reside in Canada for 730 days in the 5 years from initial landing. If you landed for example Nov/Dec 2016 then sure arriving May 2019 not a problem but you would need to stay in Canada for a while to meet your 730 day residency obligation before applying to renew your PR card next time.

PR card validity is irrelevant to meeting the residency obligation by the way.

thank u so much for the quick reply and info. yes i arrived last oct to nov 2016 in canada then they send my PR card after few months and its feb 2017 after i received i am here in philippines never go to canada. So anytime in early 2019 i can go to canada without any requirements needed just present in immigration the PR card that i had? thank u again

So based on what you have said the absolute latest you should return to Canada should be around August/Sept 2019 based on initial landing Oct/Nov 2016 . Always advisable to arrive a bit earlier than you need to given the later you leave it will need to stay put for 2 years to ensure you meet the residency obligation.

All you need is a valid PR card and passport to both board a plane and enter Canada as a PR.
