Received my PR card in a deliberately opened envelope

Don’t know what to make of this. Has any of you ever had an incident like this.

Is there anything I should do to cover my base vis a vis identity theft or whatever - I feel like that’s a real threat in Canada and to receive a deliberately opened envelope with your new PR card is fairly unsettling.

Totally understand you angst. You might consider contacting IRCC and requesting a new PR Card, but...it would likely still have the same number (at least your UCI number would remain the same).

It will - but the number on the back would be different.
