Received MR and Passport req - New Delhi _ Qorax or seniors help required

Hi All,

Though i have hardly posted any topic I have been a regular follower of this post.

I applied for FSW from India in 2010 and got into in-process since Jan 20 2012 and now i got request for medical and attached document in the mail says send back police clearence ,all passports as well so i assume it is request for medical as well as passport.

So now my question is me and my family are in US and we both are working here and not in a situation to get leave or travel.So my doubts are

• is it possible to send passport to india via post from US?
• if i sent it successfully,there are no issues in stamping the visa as i am currently not in India.

I have timely updated all info about current stay in US to them.

It is illegal to send passports to India via post.

You really have two options:

1) Return to India and delivery the passports yourself.
2) Find a friend or family member who is traveling to India from the US and have them take the passports on your behalf. Someone will also need to bring the passports back to the US for you once they have been stamped with the visa.

Yeah i got it by email.

If you say i have to travel myself then i cannot come back till i get the passport back.Is there any better option?

Hi Preetha,

As Scylla mentioned - It is illegal to send/receive PP from/to India. Indian Customs are on alert and even Courier companies nowadays refuse to accept the package if they come to know about the contents being PP.

Moreover, NDVO will send PP to only an INDIAN address.

So, the only option is to find a friend/relative or travel yourself.

15 days-2 months....but there are exceptions .....some people have got it in 15 days and some have had to wait more than 6 months.

I wish you get it soon....max 15 days
