Hello all

I am an inland fsw applicant with 24th may AOR. This morning I called cic (just checking the status) and I was told that the application has been approved and they have send me the email asking for landing appointment on 28th March in Ottawa.

I have checked everywhere but there is no email ! Even the online status shows no progress. Everything is under process.

I called cic again to reconfirm and was told that “Congratulations! It has been approved and you need to visit Ottawa immigration office on 28th March to complete landing appointment”

I am super confused. Any idea on whats happening ?

First, you should ask when was your application approved? If not much time has passed since, I would give it at least a week to receive the email. The appointment might be scheduled but they just haven't sent out the emails yet. In my case it took them exactly 8 days to send me the email.

Else, if enough time has passed, you can:
Just ask the person on the phone to give you the details about your appointment.

Also, send a webform and request this letter to be resent to you. (or look for it in your Junk/Spam folder)

Lastly, if no luck, I would visit your local office before the 28th and ask them to issue your letter in printing, since it is the local office where you'll have the appointment the one that should have sent you that email.

It happens sometimes.
Check junk folder. Ask them to resend the letter. Try a different email address
Thanks for the response. I requested them to resend it but even CIC agent over the call said that they might not respond before your interview date. They also said that if I dont receive the email before my scheduled appointment, I should still go and try to explain them the situation. They will help me out.

Hello,

I called them and was told that the application was approved on 11th March (2 days ago). They also mentioned that there is note which states "Applicant has been scheduled an appointment on 28th March to complete landing procedures and receive COPR."

So, based on your information I should wait for 8 days and check if I receive the email. Also, I asked them that what if dont review the email before 28th March ? I was told to visit the appointment centre on scheduled date and time and explain the situation. We have this info on system so they will be able to verify and let you in. I have also sent a webform requesting to resend the email.

I am also thinking to visit the centre 4 days before the scheduled appointment day to let them know that I haven't received the email and what can be done.

Yes, I'm pretty sure you'll get the email though.

What happens is that in most cases the office processing your application is different form your local office. So there is a lag between when the application is approved because the application is moved to the other office. Also, when it's already in the office they take some time to send emails out, just administrative crap that delays things.

If regardless, you never get it, you have everything figured out.

Don't forget though:
  • Bring 2 pictures for your COPR (Google the specs, they are the same as those for Canadian Passports. In my experience, Walmart does a great job. I only paid 13 dollars for both, every other place I looked they were 1 for 15-17)
  • All your Temporary permits you have (PGWP, Student permit, etc)
  • Passport
This is what they'd ask in the letter for your to bring.
