Received ITA but IELTS expiring

My cousin (who works in USA) received his ITA on 23rd December but his IELTS is going to expire on 19th Jan 2021 and he won't be able to submit his application until Feb. Will he be required to re-take the IELTS test? Also, can he do this after submitting his application?

From what I know, ielts results must be valid at the time of eAPR.

Yes - he must retake IELTS. His IELTS results must be valid at the time he submits his application.

No - he cannot do this after submitting his application. He has to do it and get the results before he submits the application.

However alike to other requirements, it is recommended to provide documents that have 6months validity that is the average processing time for an application. So either way he would rather retake the test.
