Hi,
My ecas hasn't been updated to "in process". According to the gcm generated on June 12th 2013, application status was updated to "in progress" on may10th 2013.

Just to clarify things:

Whenever you order your GCMS and it shows in progress, does not mean that your application is in in progress stage. On the day you submit your application your file will say in progress.
Ecas shows "in progress" when your file is reviewed/assigned an officer.

Hi coshx, I guess the chat is confused here...If you are asking me, I applied on March 28th, 2013...My criminality check is in progress and security and eligibility is not started. If CIO does eligibility before sending to CPP-Ottawa, then it should have been appeared in GCMS, right? Well, its all so confusing. Best is to just wait.

I would like to clear your mind for a bit.

The day (or within 2 months) you apply for permanent residency your Criminality section goes to In progress... Mine is in progress till May 2012. It is automatically done like that. Until an officer reviews your application and submits for criminality check, what ever you see there is garbage.

Well, I guess you are right..anyways..Jan 2013 are receiving PPR and COPRs...hopefully we should all expect something in a month or two....this strike is delaying our process..

they never show security check status,update and due date for security reasons its always removed from the GCMS notes.

Criminality is organized crime if you have in your past life basically its with your previous country before you come to Canada.
and Security check is within Canada.. if you have any reports trace... . its check by RCMP.

Thanks for the reply. I have understood your point on Criminality but for security can u pls explain more on security, my point is how security clearance takes place if the person has not visited canada before or still waiting for visa to be issued.
