Because they have only opened the application, they haven't reviewed it yet.

An AOR is the Acknowledgement of Receipt. They are letting you know that they got your application. Which means that they haven't made a decision yet whether to proceed with processing your papers or otherwise.

Mine was returned for 2 reasons.
1. Evidence of English proficiency such as IELTS
2. Evidence for legal stay in US for an year such as Original H1 approval form I-797

Thanks rupeshhari, mine was sent back from Buffalo, NY. If i sent what they asked for, you think it will go through fine or would they return it back because my occupation is not on NOC list anymore? Would they just return it back or send me an AOR and then later ask for AEO?

AEO stands for Arranged Employment Opinion. It is a job offer which has been approved by Service Canada.

If the criteria for FSW is: list of 38 or have an AEO or have been living in Canada for one year, if you don't fulfill this criteria, your application will be returned.

Hi all,
My NOC is 1232 loan officer but in the 38 list, 1231 is in there but not 1232. I am thinking of switching to quebec programme instead as i am not hopeful now

I have done french until my A level which was 9 years back. Well, my french was ok at that time.. Now, i can;t even speak properly but i guess i can still practice. I really want to immigrate to Canada and right now, i can see quebec only as an option

They don't need you to speak good French, can-communicating is ok. I tried before when I was in Montreal, but failed, because I can only speak several French words, like Merci....

so do you think first year french at a average US university might be enough?
According to my experience, if you can use French to speak some something, that will help a lot. Most important is that you want to see you have the interest to stay there. However this depends on your other aspects are good enough first. I know some foreign students in Montreal, they just learned basic french and made their interview in Montreal, French is not a big problem. Unfortunately, I made mine in New York....The interviewer suspected my interest in Quebec....

Still no decision made!!!

So my wife and I sent our Application for me to be a permanent resident to Canada She is sponsoring me...They received the Application April 7, 2015, still no decision made...My question is how much longer do I have to wait for a decision to be made??I'm really getting discouraged. It will be a year in 3 months since it has passed.
