Congratulations,

As per my research on IRCC website and CIC news, it's up to you to start online after your AIP. If you want you can defer your intake and can wait for in-class study. You will be processed normally and after getting your second stage approval and visa approval if travel restrictions lifted you can fly and Star your in-person education.

I applied on 13 june SDD, and worried right now as I too have 8 year Study gap and didn't received any update.
Kindly let me know if you have any group of people with huge study gap like us.
Congratulations once again.
I think Years of GAP will not be a factor at all when you apply. They will only check, is the new course a progression from previous course. Do you have funds to support studies and yourself. Are you a genuine student or trying to just get to the country with no intention of returning.

I paid my complete 1 year fees and GIC total 33k CAD and proof of second year fees. Going for MS. I had my master previously in 2012. Studying different Master course relating to my professional career.

I was not tensed at all. I was trying to calm down others. :) I was very confident that I would get an AIP. It was just about time. Everyone will receive theirs in the next 10-15 days.

They took just 24 hours from review to AIP
My eligibility started since 7th Aug but still no updates.
The eligibility status chage after AIP?

I got my Aip on 21st August 2020. Even I had 9 years of Study gap.
Does this mean that they accepted my Study gap or can it be an issue in the final approval?

Note: i submitted my application on 16th July 2020.

@CommentDebate , what all documents you submitted to prove the home ties
Nothing much but a clear and detailed explanation in my SOP. I run a company in India, the whole SOP revolved around the idea of how my Masters will help me improve my company.

I also attached a simple 4 line letter from my dad which says, he will look after the company until my return and willing to sponsor my studies.

I have applied for a Masters Degree at Ryerson University. Previously I have BE in computer science 2010. But I have never worked in IT domain. I started my company in 2011. The current Masters is about entrepreneurship. So, I think a strong SOP showing the importance of the new course which will help in career boost is vital.

I have mentioned about my parents as the home ties and plan to show the property documents but they are in the language other than english. Hence wondering how to get them translated to english.
