Hi, I applied as an investor for Canadian immigration under Quebec investor program in 2011. PR issued in March 2019 and valid for entry till Dec 2019. During the long wait my two sons got married. The information of change of my sons marital status updated to VO in Abu-Dhabi through updated forms and through emails/web updating process a year back. The PRs issued now show my sons marital status as Single. Upon notifying the VO by emails I have received the email “In response to your recent inquiry below, please advise your clients to submit both passports and COPR’s for all family members to the Abu Dhabi VAC. We request they not travel on current visas and/or COPR’s until further notice.”
Of course I will now submit the family passports and COPR to the VO but my concern remains as under:
1- why passports of all family members have been recalled whereas the issue is with my sons and not others.
2- would my sons be getting COPR duly amended or they will lose the PR and not be part of family immigration.

Thanks.
KAA

1. Your COPR needs to be updated to remove your sons as dependents.
2. They are no longer your dependents and will not be getting PR.

Dear Scylla,
I have been issued PR under Quebec investment program. Is it necessary to make my first landing in Quebec or I can first land in Toronto and stay few days with my relatives. Can immigration officer deny your first entry to other province less the one the PR has been issued from.

You can land in Toronto but you should be able to show that you have an onward journey booked to Quebec. You must also provide a Quebec address for the mailing of your PR card.
