I'd argue this can be an issue if you retain or renew citizenship or passport after becoming a Canadian citizen, particularly if you are detained in your home country.
We haven't seen this play out in actual cessation cases IRCC has pursued. It's been focused on PRs reavailing.

IMO the danger is being detained in your home country (as you said) and Canada not being in a position to help.

What happens after citizenship is irrelevant for you right now. What you need to be concerned about is the high probability IRCC is going to pursue cessation of your PR status.
