Reasons to change VO

Hi, I have already asked the VO (HK, 19 months) to forward our application to another VO that takes about 5 months and it was refused because they said they recently received the application. I would like to ask my deputy for help to have our file transferred to the other VO office. But no concrete reasons comes to mind apart that the delay of 19 months is too long, they have not started the review yet therefore it should be fine to transfer and i miss my wife. Even to me, these reasons does not sound too persuasive. Can you guys/gals give me more persuasive arguments.

Thanks, DArin

I hate to say this - but I think this is a lost cause.

Have you read throught the File Transfer Policy? In short, the only reason they will transfer a file is for "program integrity". This is a decision that CIC makes independently if they feel it is appropriate - and which you cannot influence. Unfortunately I think they will continue to ignore any requests you send.

More information here:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2010/ob180.asp

Hope this helps.

Thanks Scylla. That explains why i have not hear people transferring application to another VO.

Does anyone know what a deputy can do for our application?

Thanks, Darin

Have no idea what you mean by "deputy". But your application won't be moved.

i guess maybe depends on what reasons u give; also if they transfered to the vo u requested there's not much u can do ::)

sorry to continue on ur topic but what would happen in this case, PMM, scylla?

the applicant resides in a gulf country based on his work there; usually the work visas r now 2 years, not all companies will extend the contract, so to be safe and to finish faster he writes vo as his country of nationality; missisauga decides to send the application to abu-dhabi anyway even if it was asked differently (from what many other members stated); but if the person cannot renew the work anymore and is forced to leave he cannot re-enter the gulf on the basis that he has an immigration application in process; so what will happen then (if there's an interview or who knows)? they will just close the file even if everything was explained at the beginning and maybe the person already waited for 1 year of process?
any feedback appreciated.....thank u :)

There really isn't harm in trying to request a transfer, but I think likely you will be out if luck. For example, if you apply inland, leave Canada and get denied reentry they just cancel your app.

thank u Lynn :) yeah i know but in that case the applicant was or should have been aware of the circumstance - it's written everywhere!!!! but in the case i presented the applicant did everything possible and asked for another visa office from the beginning and cic decided differently and now nothing is on his/her control; the fact that someone looses residency/work in a country should not affect the Canadian immigration process; i mean it's not the applicant's fault since s/he presented clearly the facts but those facts were not taken into consideration ::)
