For all those applicants who were refused TRV for Canada, I have created this thread to share reasons and whether second attempt was successful.

Please share your information for the benefit of others.

Hi,

We have been refused for a visit visa as well. And we are planning for a second try. We are family of three and my partner is the principal applicant who has a sister in Canada with PR. The reasons are:

1. Family ties in Canada and in country of residence - We only attached the birth certificate of my partner.
2. Current employment situation - We didn't attach any employment letter.
3. Personal assets and financial status - we only attach our bank statement and my partner pay slip.

Now, we will be attaching the following:

1. Affidavit of relationship and Birth certificate of my partner and sister.
2. Employment letter and salary certificate for my partner and me, my payslip as well and our properties in our home country and car property in our country of residence.

But still afraid that we'll gonna be rejected. It will be frustrating if it happens.

Can someone advise how to proceed further? Not sure if these docs will work this time. But will be applying this week.

Thanks,

Hi,

First off, do have a look at the document checklist for your country of nationality on the CIC website.

Some suggestions:
1. Did you submit proofs of your relationship to your partner considering his/her sister is the host/person inviting you?

2. What does the third applicant do?

3. Did you prepare/briefly list the places you'd like to visit, etc as part of the Purpose of Visit

4. How much finances did you show for the three of you? For how long do you intend to visit?

5. For evidence of employment and financial status, you must submit leave approval letters from your employer(s) stating your jobs will be there when you return + 6 months of pay stubs + Income Tax Returns + proofs of a *must return by date* for professional/personal commitments + financial investments (bank term deposits, mutual funds, shares, pension funds, etc).

Do ensure there are no large deposits/transfers in your bank accounts or no funds borrowed for the visa application.

6. For your properties: Assessment by a chartered accountant + market realty proofs of indicative rates for the area where your properties are located + if you've paid off the mortgage then do mention this (as it shows a strong financial situation).

Any rental income?

7. Do you have other family in your country of residence (dependent family or other family members who live nearby)? This could help to counter the first reason for refusal

Cheers :)

Hi Rohit,

Sorry to hear you got a TRV refusal again. If you applied with the same set of documents then this second refusal was inevitable. Maybe you would've got the TRVs this time if you had gone with my suggestions.

When you reapply in December do ensure you have addressed the reasons for refusal.... otherwise there's no point in reapplying. You have a fairly good case if you present your financial situation/property properly

Don't worry :)

hi

i applied for visitor visa and it was refused due to:
1.purpose of visit .
2.immigration status in country of residence.

within the next two days of rejection i added some more documents to cover up reasons of refusal and i applied for the second time and its refused again with many more reasons:
1.immigration status in country of residence.(Translated copy of IQAMA ID AND ALSO COVERING LETTER FROM EMPLOYER SUBMITTED)
2.length of proposed stay in canada.(RETURN TICKET OF ONE MONTH DURATION SUBMITTED)
3. purpose of visit.(ATTACHED INVITATION LETTER FROM FAMILY FRIEND ,PR IN CANADA LIVING WITH FAMILY. SUBMITTED)
4.current employment situation.

I WANT TO APPLY ONCE AGAIN BUT NEED STRONG DOCS, SUGGESTION..

CAN ANYONE HELP ? ??

@gabaprem

1. Is an Iqama the same as the employment visa for Saudi Arabia?

2. Did you get it translated from a certified translator? Also did you translate the entry stamps in your passport?

3. Did you submit an employment contract? Or is it permanent employment? 6 months' pay slips? 12 months' bank statements showing salary deposits by your employer? Leave approval letter from your employer stating you'll have your job when you return? A date by which you must return?

4. Purpose of visit: You must prepare a day-by-day itinerary of places you'd like to visit, meet friends, etc.... do give expense estimates for each day.... and prove you have the finances for this itinerary (although your friend will provide accommodation/travel and living expenses)

5. A one month visit is too long.... it puts your employment situation in doubt.... hence your visit must be for 2-2.5 weeks max. preferably around national holidays in KSA.

6. Do you have family who live with you in KSA? Any financial investments? Lease agreement for your accommodation? Have you traveled to countries requiring visas (not countries like Dubai/UAE)

7. What documents did your friend provide apart from the invitation letter? Did you provide any evidence of how you know your friend?

Cheers

Good day to everyone..
I too tried to apply for a visit visa for Canada, currently im here in Qatar as a OFW(Overseas Foreign Worker)Filipino Citizen. I have been working as a Document Controller in a Woodworks Company. My cousin is the person that is inviting me to visit her and her family(Citizens of Canada). I sent my application last Sept.16, got the updates that my application is being processed. But today(Sept. 21) got the message that the application has been refused.
Thinking of reapplying but kind of hesitant.
Reason for being refused:
- Family ties in Canada and in country of residence
- Current employment situation
- Personal assets and financial status

So my question is:
1. With "Family ties in Canada and in country of residence" it is my cousin that is inviting me, and I attached my birth cert and her birth cert in the part to prove relationship, but i dont have any family here in Qatar since im a foreign worker, my only strong tie the the country of residence is the job i am currently holding, likewise I have my mother in the my home Country that is relying on me financially(was not mention in application), so what best would prove this?
2. With "Current employment situation" I Attached a letter of approved leave with specific dates of leave and date of resume of work, employment contract showing unlimited, my payslips, my Qatar ID. what more to add to prove my current employment situation?
3. With "Personal assets and financial status", I don't have a house here in Qatar, the accommodation is shouldered by the company, financial status, my salary is given by cash, and most of it is being remitted to my home country in support of my mother but the acct name being remitted to is my own acct, then my mother would withdraw the money(still not mentioned in my application), so what would be next to prove this?

hoping you could give some guidance on how to tackle these facts..

again thank you

@sha457

Please do not think the worst :)

People have had refusals in a few days/weeks/months after submitting their applications. It has taken similar processing times when TRVs were issued.

You can send a Case Specific Enquiry to the Islamabad visa office.

Hope for the best :)

@sha457

It must be frustrating just waiting.... don't get worried.

The processing time for TRVs at the Islamabad VO is currently 70 days.... this is the average time for 80% of applications. So, hopefully you'll get a decision soon.

Did you book tickets (by any chance)? When did you send the CSE?

Hi Divya,

I'll help you.

Your mom has a good case.... it seems her documents/ties to India were not presented properly.

Before I give you my suggestions, do let us know:
1. The list of documents your mom submitted

2. Is your mom employed/has a business? Source of the money in her bank account in case she is not employed/doesn't have a business?

3. Is the property that's rented out on her name?

4. For how long does your mom want to visit?

Cheers :)
